How to install Google Assistant on almost any Android device




Google Assistant, the new intelligent, conversational virtual assistant rolled out in October 2016. The Pixel will be the only phone with Google Assistant built in for the time being. However, with a little tweaking, you can get it on any phone running Android Marshmallow or higher. Here�s how.

Steps to enable Google Assistant on your Android Device without Root

Step 1 : Get the beta versions of Google App and Google Play Services. Go to Settings then, tap on Google now, tap on the three dot button on the top right and tap on the option �Help & Feedback�.


 Step 2 : In the �Help� page, again tap on the three dot button on the top right and tap on  �View in Google Play Store�. It will open Google Play Services page in Play Store. Just scroll down and tap on �Become a beta tester� then, tap on �I�m in�.


Step 3 : Then, tap on �Join� , after which the beta signup will be in progress. It should take a few minutes.





Step 4 : Now, search for the Google app in the Play Store and sign up for its beta program.




 Step 5 : Now, wait for a few minutes and then, open up Play Store. Here, head to the �My apps & games� section and go to the �Beta� tab, where you will find Google and Google Play Services. Make sure to update both Apps.



Step 6 : After updating both the apps, go to Settings � Apps. Here, go to the Google � Storage �  Manage Space and tap on �Clear All Data�.





Step 7 : Then, go back and do the same for Google Play Services. Tap on �Manage Space� and �Clear All Data�.


Step 8 : Open up the Google app, where you will be asked to set things up. Once done, you will see the Google page. Don�t be disappointed, open up the hamburger menu and tap on �Settings�.


Step 9 : Here, you will find the Google Assistant settings. Just tap on it. The Google Assistant setup window should then pop-up. You can tap on �Continue� and then, press and hold the home button to trigger the Google Assistant.





Step 10 : The Google Assistant will now be available to you.
